Great for Older Teens to Adult!

Where Hearts are Free is set in the 1600s, and circles around a small group of characters- Bridget, her parents and fiancee, Phillipe, and his family. In a time when colonies were subject to the crown and immigrants found religious freedom and peace in the New World, Bridget fights to find true love despite her arranged marriage to shady Edward Moorehead. This book was easy to read- in some parts a little too young for its own content. I wouldn't suggest any kids under 15 read it because of some adult situations (nothing inappropriate, just not for younglings). I had a really hard time putting this one down! Once I was a good ways into it, I couldn't help but stay up til 6am reading the rest. While Bridget is dealing with issues that we might not necessarily deal with today (such as arranged marriages, issues of class and wealth, etc) it is a great example of how to reach out to God to pull you through the storm- and also how God is there despite bad things happening to good people. There is a season for all! And I believe this book does a wonderful portrayal of that.
